Singapore Flyer

Even though the Singapore Flyer has been in service since 2008, I took it for the first time on Christmas day 2021. The queue was rather long...took us about 45mins to get from the back of the queue to boarding. The entire trip on the Flyer took about 30mins, so we waited in line longer than the journey. We missed the setting sun, as we had just got on board when the sun was setting, but we were facing the opposite direction. By the time we got to face West, the sun had already set.

This first photograph shows the setting sun and the amazing colours on the sky. Cropped image.

The view towards the East, as we started our journey on the Flyer. I must say that I am rather impressed with the HCD 4/28. The detail and sharpness is edge to edge. And the GFX 50S II's IBIS is quite impressive. These were shot at 1/7s to 1/3s, hand held, with the camera pressed on the glass of the Flyer capsule.

Same view, but in landscape orientation.

And by the time we had our orientation towards the West, the sun had already set.

I also made one exposure in 65:24 aspect ratio of the traditional X-PAN in Acros simulation mode. Quite like this photograph too. This was taken just a bit before disembarkation, as evidenced by the lower point of view.

As usual, Fujifilm GFX 50S II, mainly with Hasselblad HCD 4/28 via H Adapter on all the photographs except for the BW which was shot with the GF50.
