Amoy at CNY

A walkabout the Amoy area during the second day of Chinese New Year. Today I feature some photographs of the two temples in the vicinity and tomorrow more of the neighbourhood.

Siang Cho Keong Temple - a rather small temple tucked between the hawker centre and the conserved terraced houses.

Huge joss sticks burning.

And not far away, one of the oldest temples in Singapore. Yu Huang Gong - Temple of the Heavenly Jade Emperor. A heritage building, the temple is still operational, and on this Chinese New Year is open for worship. The queues are very long, and in these days of social distancing, bookings are required over social media to secure a visit slot.
