Tooth Relic Temple and Museum

The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum stands bold at the corner of Chinatown. According to the Wikipedia article, the architecture is based on a style of  the Tang dynasty period. It was built to house the tooth relic of the historical Buddha. It is claimed that this tooth is a relic of Buddha from a collapsed stupa. The tooth,  measuring 7.5cm can be viewed by the public at the 4th floor of the temple.

The temple is quite beautifully decorated with nice colour, so perhaps a bit out of character for this blog, but here is a colour photograph.

A huge construction site lies to the South of the Temple.
