Redhill Market

Another hawker centre and market for today. We are at Redhill Market. The now familiar layout of the food centre and attached market with shops surrounding the building is presented.

The dramatic visual element of the sweeping, potato chip shaped roof connecting the market on the left to the hawker centre on the right. The high rise HDB residential block is visible in the background.

The hawker center side is usually very busy, with long queues at the popular stalls. The Teochew Porridge stall has a long snaking queue. Adjacent to it, seen here on the right, is an equally popular stall selling satay beehoon. Reputed to be one of the most famous for selling this dish, it too features a perpetual queue during the operational hours.

Crossing over to the market side, an egg vendor displays her produce.

And nearby, a stall offering fruits and Chinese New Year potted plants. CNY is less than 3 weeks away, and locals decorate their homes with festive plants.

A fishmonger sits quietly in his stall. The morning rush had come and gone by the time I was there...about noon.

And rounding up the visit, stalls offering dried food and goods.
