Recce for large format

Shooting with a large format camera requires discipline to recce for possible shots before hauling the camera down to site to shoot.

Fortunately, the field of view on my Nikkor W 180mm f/5.6 lens on 4x5 is nearly the same as my Hasselblad HC 2.8/80 on my Fujifilm GFX 50S II. Both approximating the field of view of a 60mm on 135 full frame format.
So I can just walk about with the HC80 on the GFX, and scout for locations and possible shots. Here is the first of the walkabouts.

The Jinriksha station. Also a bit too close. I was already backed up almost all the way on the traffic island.

This temple might work. Without the car, of course. Though compositionally, the straight ahead shot is perhaps a bit boring. Maybe with an ND filter and long exposure. Or look for another angle.

Next up, People's Park Complex. Sorta, kinda works. But also perhaps a bit too narrow FOV, or too wide. Would be ok to either show the whole building or cut off the bottom right corner to show just "endless" rows of windows.

Note to self: need to be conscious to document People's Park before it goes under the wrecking ball.

And finally, this field of view works...though maybe a bit further right, and eliminate the gas cylinders, and gain a bit of the row of shops on the right. KIV for possible photograph.

I find this pre-visualisation process useful and I quite enjoy the considered, slow approach that large format takes.
