At the local Izakaya

Drinking places are popular, I guess everywhere. And no more than in Japan, where the izakaya culture of the salaryman is a part, perhaps highlight, of every day life. Here is one in Singapore where I ate and drank at recently. Love the atmosphere.

As usual, shot with my Fujifilm GFX 50S II with GF 50mm/f3.5. Fuji Across film simulation in X-Pan 65:24 mode.

The bar, which is the highlight. Spirits, sake, highballs and beer is the order of the day.

Grilled items feature high in an izakaya, though traditional dishes which are simmered, braised, and fried are also available. Here, the grill station.

And the sushi counter.

Above the grill counter, is this grotesque Japanese mask.
